EXPECT NOTHING BUT BRACE FOR DISAPPOINTMENT, IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR E3

Currently, both Microsoft and Sony have announced absolutely nothing I'm even sort of interested in. I've heard rumors that Rareware is resurrecting an ancient franchise for the Xbox One (all signs points to Killer Instinct), but honestly, it's a little too late for Rare in my opinion. I don't think I can trust them to make a game as great as any of their past works again. Meanwhile, Sony has, uh, that Infamous sequel and whatever their PS4 reveal was kind of boring. God knows Leslie and I will still watch their conferences, but I'm not expecting much.

I do have some hope for Nintendo, though. New Mario, Kart, and Smash confirmed with trailers for each, plus that whole E3-at-Best Buy thing. We might actually go check that out if they have playable Smash Bros. there. New Smash is probably the only thing I'm hyped for, really. At least until more info on the new Guilty Gear is released.

We also had the Konami pre-E3 conference, which consisted of soccer, mostly Castlevania, and Dance Dance Revolution: PE Class edition. Oh, and Kiefer Sutherland is Snake. Following the logic, Kojima wanted a physical actor since there's a huge emphasis on motion capture in this game, and David Hayter is primarily a voice actor. I get that, but boy it still feels really shitty. And also a little confusing. When the game was first revealed, Snake had his original Japanese voice. When we got the Phantom Pains trailer, we first hear Kiefer's voice...as a character that wasn't Snake at all. Snake was voiced by someone else entirely. But NOW we see that he's the motion capture actor for Snake, but we haven't heard him voice any lines. Kaz still seems to have his original actor, Robin Atkin Dowes, who is also primarily a voice actor. This whole thing seems fairly complicated and I wouldn't be surprised if it was all a ruse and Hayter comes right back to voice Big Boss. But it's still all super weird.

Anyway, we'll see you on Sunday, WHICH IS ALSO WHEN ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW LEAF COMES OUT GET HYPED
