I LIKE that mysterious stranger in the audience!
Not much going on recently. I checked out Sonic: Lost World from the library with hopeful expectations and was disappointed on all fronts. I barely made it out of the first world awake. Seriously the biggest Sonic-based let-down since '06. Like, everything feels wrong. There's no momentum, you're constantly sticking to every vertical surface in the game, the Galaxy-esque level design does nothing but confuse and disorient you. What genius decided Sonic needed a RUN button, and that the run button would also be your annoying-instant-stick parkour button?
I don't understand how Sega has yet to improve on Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 after 15 years. The Sonic Adventures weren't GREAT by any means, but the Sonic levels were solid as hell. There's a great foundation there, especially in Adventure 2. Hell, the level design in City Escape is so tightly made, and stringing together jumps and rails and platforming and tricks was fucking FUN. Why do they refuse to just...I dunno, give us more of that? And give us back the fucking chao garden already.
That's all for today! See you on Sunday!
