So, Leslie and I tried out the demo for Beyond: Two Souls, and much like every other David Cage game ever made, I hated it down to the very core. Once again, he has an incredibly interesting premise (something he shares with Suda, and even though they make bad games, Suda never neglects the actual GAME part), but it fails on every other possible level. The camera is impossible to deal with when you actually have control of the character, the QTE segments are vague and far too Dragon's Lair like, but at least with Dragon's Lair you had consequences for failing them. There are no consequences here for losing. I puprosely failed almost all of the QTE segments and still managed to come out on top of every possible conflict in the game. But of course, these games are all about story, and of course it's cliche-ridden and filled to the brim with overacting (THE GHOST KNOCKED OVER SOME CARDS GET ME OUT OF HERE AAAAHHHHHH).

Basically, Leslie and I hated every minute of it. When it comes out, save your money. Put it towards something useful instead, like an actual movie, or a cheap game, or a Slipshine subscription BECAUSE OUR PORN IS DONE! We'll update this blog when it's up on the site!
