So, Leslie and I splurged and bought it on both platforms. She's been playing it on Wii U, I've been playing on the 3DS. Haven't tried online or cross-platform switching, but it exists and that's really fucking awesome. So far we've been going at about the same pace. We've both beaten the Great Jaggi, which is further than Yahtzee ever got, the casual bastard. She's been using the hammer, and I've been using the gunlance. She named her pig "Snowball", and I named mine "Romeo". 

 

The first bit of the game seems to be a direct port of Tri, but with all the weapons and a lot of new features, which I'm okay with. The only thing really wrong with Tri was the lack of weapons, I felt. Having it handheld with my trusty Gunlance/Hunting Horn makes it perfect. Plus, we took a peek at the new shit that's in the game, and jesus christ, the combined number of new weapons/equipment is in the thousands and there's like, what, a hundred total monsters in this damn game? It's FUCKING HUGE, I LOVE IT.
